Activities while Self-Isolating

It’s important to still keep your mind & body active while in self isolation! Here are some activities being offered & useful links:

BBC Shows & Podcasts
The BBC has announced a range of programming aimed at supporting those self-isolating.

A weekly prime time coronavirus special will air on Wednesday evenings, while there will be a daily coronavirus podcast. BBC One will air a daily programme Health Check Live UK aimed at supporting those who are self-isolating.

A virtual church service will be held on local radio on Sundays, led by the Archbishop of Canterbury to start with. They are looking into broadcasting exercise classes.

If you’re looking for something lighter, they will be adding box sets of programmes such as Spooks, The Missing, Waking the Dead, French and Saunders, Wallander and The Honourable Woman. Radio 4 will re-broadcast classic editions of comedy programmes including Just A Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, as well as dramas and readings such as the Bronte Sisters’ novels.

Age UK Oxfordshire have a 40 minute exercise video available on their website here: https://generationgames.org.uk/ These are gentle exercises suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Ebooks
Unfortunatley the library is currently closed, but if you have an internet connection you can download ebooks to read.
