Volunteer

Do you have a little spare time?

Do you want to make friends, build skills, and give back to your community?

We would love to welcome you as a volunteer!

No shop experience is needed, only a positive and helpful attitude. Our friendly group of staff, volunteers and trustees are always happy to welcome new people to join our Age Concern Lutterworth team.

We’ve had volunteers of all ages and circumstances: retired people; recent school leavers; part-time workers; stay-at-home parents; or those who’ve been out of work for a while. At Age Concern Lutterworth, we’ll work with you to make your volunteering a fulfilling experience, whether you’re looking to make new friends, gain skills, or increase your confidence.

All the funds we raise in our charity shop are used to support and run events and activities for older people in the Lutterworth area in order to combat loneliness and isolation. By volunteering with us, you’ll be working to give back to your local community and to make middle/later life in Lutterworth and the surrounding villages a fulfilling, enjoyable experience for people.

The minimum commitment we ask for is 3 and a half hours a week in either the morning or afternoon. Potential duties include sorting and pricing stock, serving customers at the register, organising and cleaning the shop floor, steaming garments, and answering customer enquiries in a friendly and helpful manner. If there’s particular duties you’d like to undertake or skills you’d like to pick up, we’ll always do our best to accommodate you.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, then please download the form below and bring it in to our office at the shop, or if you would like more information please contact us on 01455 557116.
